Why 'free' matters in co-parenting apps
The other co-parenting apps on the market — Our Family Wizard, TalkingParents, AppClose, 2Houses — all charge per parent, per year, and gate the features that matter most (message export, tone analysis, unlimited storage) behind higher tiers. For a two-parent family that's $200–$300 a year just to keep communication organized.
CustodyTrac was built on the principle that co-parenting tools shouldn't be a luxury. If money is one more thing you and your ex have to negotiate, the app doesn't get used — and when the app doesn't get used, the record doesn't exist.
Because both parents get everything for free, adoption is easy: there's no "which of us is paying?" argument, no shared subscription to renegotiate, no cheaper tier that leaves out the export you actually need in mediation.
