These are educational summaries and estimates, not legal advice or official worksheets. Guidelines, tables, caps, and credits change; confirm the current calculation with the state resource and a licensed family-law attorney.

How this is calculated

Each state's model (income shares, percentage of obligor income, Melson, or California's statutory formula) is implemented from that state's published guideline. Percentage states and California use the exact statutory formula. Income-shares states use the effective share of combined income their own schedule of basic obligations produces at typical middle incomes, which tracks the published tables closely but is still an estimate, not a court calculation.

CustodyTrac publishes educational information, not legal advice. Custody and support outcomes depend on facts a calculator cannot see — confirm anything that matters with a family law attorney in your state.
